The consensus

1 of the 10 reviews we read rated it 3★ or lower, but none of them wrote a comment. This is the most-upvoted review (no upvotes).

“ChatGPT Meal Planning. I really liked this course! It was a fun way to jump into Generative AI, and I learned a lot more than just meal planning. I enjoyed the meal planning - with all the tips and suggestions- and the instructions and prepared prompts were applicable to Copilot and Gemini. I have a Pixel 9 Pro - with Gemini Advance- and meal planning became addicting! I thought the instructor was personable, and I can easily see how you can take the AI skills you learn in this course and apply it to other research projects and/ or hobbies. I would recommend this course if (1) you like to cook, (2) you are short on time and want customized, tailored meal suggestions, and/or (3) you would like to see ChatGPT in action, using a familiar example.”

Coursera's 4.8 comes from 30 ratings. Of those, 3.3% are 1–2★.

Starisk reads the reviews learners voted most helpful, and weights each by the square root of its votes: a review with 80 upvotes counts about five times one with 2. Unvoted reviews are not skipped out of laziness — by this model they carry no evidence that other students endorsed them.

That measures what the most-endorsed reviews say, not “true quality.” The rating distribution above is the whole population, so you can see the sample next to it.
