About the course

ChatGPT and other large language models are going to be more important in your life and business than your smartphone, if you use them right. ChatGPT can tutor your child in math, generate a meal plan and recipes, write software applications for your business, help you improve your personal cybersecurity, and that is just in the first hour that you use it. The course will give you a primer that covers what Generative AI is, basic prompt engineering, and how you can innovate with Generative AI.

The dissent

The most-upvoted critical review (3 votes, 2.0★).

“This course is just materials taken from the instructor's other courses and presented as a new course. If anything, this course should have been created and offered in a series before one takes the much better prompt engineering and advanced data analysis courses. The way that it has been done, however, offering this course as a new offering by cutting and pasting the other courses together, just seems like a lame attempt to keep offering more courses.”

Coursera's 4.8 comes from 505 ratings. Of those, 1.0% are 1–2★.

Starisk reads the reviews learners voted most helpful, and weights each by the square root of its votes: a review with 80 upvotes counts about five times one with 2. Unvoted reviews are not skipped out of laziness — by this model they carry no evidence that other students endorsed them.

That measures what the most-endorsed reviews say, not “true quality.” The rating distribution above is the whole population, so you can see the sample next to it.
