The consensus

1 of the 17 reviews we read rated it 3★ or lower, but none of them wrote a comment. This is the most-upvoted review (no upvotes).

“This course goes beyond basic prompt engineering and focuses on how to apply generative AI to SQL and analytical workflows. I especially valued the emphasis on structured prompts and using AI as a support for decision-making rather than a shortcut. As a suggestion for improvement, I think the learning experience could be even more effective if the course order were reversed, starting with more foundational content and progressively moving toward more specialized topics. From my perspective, this sequencing would create a smoother and more productive learning curve. Overall, I would highly recommend this course to data professionals looking for practical, thoughtful applications of generative AI.”

Coursera's 4.8 comes from 56 ratings. Of those, 1.8% are 1–2★.

Starisk reads the reviews learners voted most helpful, and weights each by the square root of its votes: a review with 80 upvotes counts about five times one with 2. Unvoted reviews are not skipped out of laziness — by this model they carry no evidence that other students endorsed them.

That measures what the most-endorsed reviews say, not “true quality.” The rating distribution above is the whole population, so you can see the sample next to it.
