The consensus

1 of the 15 reviews we read rated it 3★ or lower, but none of them wrote a comment. This is the most-upvoted review (no upvotes).

“This is a very well designed and thought out course. I like that it's very hands on. It reminds me of Udacity courses in a way. The course says 20 hours but I really did spend like almost 60 hrs on it because I spent 3 hrs a day for 19 days working on this because I did every single lab. I recommend doing the labs to get the most out of this course. The AI grading was very interesting. There were some parts of the videos where the narrator was reading each line of code like a robot, but luckily it wasn't for long.”

Coursera's 4.8 comes from 81 ratings. Of those, 1.2% are 1–2★.

Starisk reads the reviews learners voted most helpful, and weights each by the square root of its votes: a review with 80 upvotes counts about five times one with 2. Unvoted reviews are not skipped out of laziness — by this model they carry no evidence that other students endorsed them.

That measures what the most-endorsed reviews say, not “true quality.” The rating distribution above is the whole population, so you can see the sample next to it.
